Oops, JNTU did it again

Its been long since ive got down to writing up my blog, even thou lot has happned in the past few months, once thats recent which prompted me to write a post about it was,

Well, i so called Finished my engineering in May 2008, but i had one subject still pending ( 2-1′s SS ( signals and systems ). which even after my repeated attempts didnt get enuf marks to clear, even tho i had written it quite well.

i had S-S supplementary Scheduled in November-08 ( with 07 batch’s Regular Exams ) so i had lotta time to fill from May 08,  So i took up Traveling , went to Europe Middle east..etc came back to india in October. Wrote my exams well. The Guys at JNTU didn’t release the results even by December, as it was very much needed to apply to Universities for the January intake, without Degree, i couldn’t apply for Education Visa.

So we waited for 2 months to have our results . The Advance Supplementary was suppose to be scheduled in Jan ending or Mid February, as some of my m8′s had quite a number of subjects on hand, so they decided to skip some so they can put in full effort on the others, as the advance supplementary would be in January, and they could still make the March-April Intake.

But that was not the case, the university released the results in End of Jan, and also announced at the time of releasing the results that the exams which were supposed to be held in January-February-09 have been canceled to be held in May-June-09, this came as blow to many including me,  As the Retards at JNTU gave me a 11/80 in external, even when i wrote the exam perfect. In JNTU there isnt anything called * re-correction* or we cant ask for a xerox of our paper ( this rule came in March-09 ). So i had to wait till June to write my exam,

to my luck i had joined JNtU Engineering in the year 2004 so i came under the (RR) batch ( Revised Regulations ), the rules were revised so, the student can’t benefit from them.

the Earlier (NR) and Later (05),(07) batches were allowed to have 2-3 subjects as backlog and they would still be issued Degrees. Osmania University has a feature called *3point system*. if a Student has passed out from the university, he/she but has max of 3 subjects still pending they can pay an DD of INR3000 and they will be given “28 marks”, the student then can add these marks to the existing marks and he can Clear his remanning subjects in such manner. No such option in JNTU or RR batch for that matter,

The only Flexibility for RR batch which was given was, a Student will be promoted to 2nd year even if he fails in all his subjects of the 1st year by request, if he even passes in 1 subject he would be automatically promoted, and Student can have a backlog in the 1st year and still be promoted to 4th Year.

Lab=4 Credits, Theory=3 credits

For RR batch as follows

6 Credits needed to move from 1st to 2nd

56 credits needed to move from 2nd year to 3rd year

112 credits needed to move from 3rd year to 4th year

Need to Clear all subjects to be issued a Degree

————————————————–

for 05,07 [NR (2002)] as follows

12 Credits needed to move from 1st to 2nd year

42 credits needed to move from 2nd year to 3rd year- ( they r fighting to lower it too 22 )

no backlog in 1st year to move to 4th year no credit specification as per my knowledge.

can apply for degree if student has less than 3 subjects remaning

———————————————————————————-

So the rules wern’t helping me much as they held me back for 1 year for one damn subject.

In the meanwhile, i attended many interviews and got in few universities, and was issued an Conditional i20 from an French Institution, to which i had already made payments and was just waiting for the results to be released to get hold of the convocation certificate and apply for Visa.

When the results came, it was an another shock, as the system said, I was ABSENT for my Exam, and that there was no record of me writing that exam. The Results were released on 11th July at about 4am. So i was at the JNTU campus at 9am, only to find, its been closed down due to some Job Fair..etc the next day being sunday, i had to spend an awful sunday, waiting for monday, 2 other students wrote  the 2-1 exams with me, and they too were marked absent, i had to write a letter addressed to the principal, and submit it, after doing so,

I had to drive down 100km to get to JNTU university main branch, upon enquiring, they asked me to produce a form call *D* and some other forms, to prove that i had indeed attended the exam. So i had to drive back again to my university, to get the appropriate form. Which later i was denied. saying that, its an confidential form, and its not given to students, and they University will take appropriate action as this has also occurred to 50 students in the other branch of the university.

When we went back to the university to take the D form and other documents, the Exam branch in-charge started acting all moody and weird, and started asking why didn’t we come to college with dress code, trying to divert the topic, a heated argument was exchanged between my friends and the Exam Branch in-charge.

Saying this, he gave us a Minimum of 20 days, before they can get to an conclusion. more 20 days????, this additional 20 days is going to cause me a major setback, as i have to apply for visa and it takes about 40 days to be processed. Now i have to suffer for what is not mine but the universities mistake as the days arn’t sufficient for me to process my visa, as i have to be there by last week of august for Registration and application of Temp Citizen card for EU States

Now the Exams which were suppose to be done with by Mid Feb has been stretched to July and probably August causing me to apply to a another university for Jan 2010 intake, therefore making the gap of 1 Year for their mistake, if it was conducted in Jan itself i could have applied for March-April intake this year.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

update,

Well from what you can gather from above, u’ll have an idea how the university is operating which is total chaos, after the 20days passed, i went back to the university, where i was told, that i had failed in my exam with external marks as 27. because i was so certain, that i had written well, i went ahead with Control Evaluation in which the i have to do some paper work and submit forms after which the university will have to show an   Xerox of my answersheet. it had been 10 days  since they had announed my new result, so i took Control Evaluation  forms and went to the university to submit the form, on reaching there  the form was not being accepted by the system, as it said i had already passed my exam.

Now this came as a surprise to me, i was then told i got 53 in external and i can apply for trnscripts, for which i did, it came i had indeed pass with 53 in external.

i went about my work, and again i went back to uni for an 2nd set of xerox after about a month, now, in it it showed i had passed but i got 0 in SS exam mrks, ( the exm for which i was marked absent )

i have already got my original provisional memo and transcripts, i had only my subjective memo pending and Consolidated memo pending, now i have 2  transcripts with different marks and totals… its totally wierd, cus this uni sucks, now i dont knwo which memo shud i use to apply

Bunch of thievs

Well I don’t even know where to begin on this one, As many of you may be familiar with the Term “Supplementary” as it becomes quite often used when ur a student of engineering.

We Write Supplementary in hope of clearing the exams which we couldn’t Clear, which can be due to whatever reasons, but one can expect is the Support from the teachers (moral or whatever), but that is not the case here, this Time I had 3 Subjects remaining and it being the final supplementary of the season so it made it even more crucial, as if the subject wasn’t cleared then it would take 6 months for the exam to be re-conducted.

well that’s all that, Coming to the college, the exam is suppose to be schedule to begin at 10 am, so most of us were there by 9am, during which we were made to run barefooted across the college grounds, as there was a new rule being forced by an JNTU external that, all students are required to remove footwear and socks before entering the examination hall, this rule was weird enough,

The External Examiner ( a woman about 22-23 yrs of age),was given every one a hard time, as she went to every bench , to every student , checked then thoroughly, she came up to every student demanded the hall ticket and ID card and verified both the pictures with the student’s face, and sometimes claimed that the student on the hall ticket is not the one writing the exam, During which she made lotta noise and created scenes on the exam hall, * shouting n stuff* , She made us empty all our pockets , dust of pants , check the hall tickets as if they were bank Notes( checking in Light), I didn’t know what she was looking for Probably the RBI Gandhi strip found in bank notes, but am sure didn’t get close to finding them. when this was done, the students became very uneasy, as the way of questioning was not proper and it also meant loss of crucial time and Most importantly Disturbing the Fine Thread of patience, We spend all night preparing for exams, if any incident of this sort occurs, we tend to forget things or are not sure about them, resulting in very poor performance.

I don’t know where she was from *external* but, u could make out she must been working in a Central jail office or summat.Well on my First exam, she decided to pick on some poor old unsuspecting Soul.

The guy had forgotten his Hall ticket amidst the tension of the exam’s, so the general procedure for misplaced hall ticket is to inform someone at the office and request and reissue of the hall ticket which is a Xerox of the original one.

So this guy had went to the office and requested for a replacement, the concerned faculty was not present there, due to unknown reasons, so instead passed on the info to the other staff, as our college does not permit anyone inside the exam hall after 10am.

He had to rush Bk to class (in this case exam hall); the reissued hall ticket is usually sent to class during the exam. So the examiner had begun checking during which she found he had no hall ticket, after that it was more like, public show, disturbing everyone, including the teachers. She withheld the paper and demanded the hall ticket, when she was told that the student had applied for reissue, she didn’t take that as an explanation, his paper was tossed around quite often across the room, and by chronological order, every member of faculty was brought in to scold or torture the guy, this went on till 12:30 which left him only 30 mins to write and 3 hr exam.i don’t know what she was trying to achieve by doing this, but it surely didn’t help anyone but her sadistic self.

The Next day, I had an exam as well, so 2day was an other guy’s turn to be emotionally n physically harassed. as usual she was doing her usual bomb scan on the students, but 2day the college teachers had not requested to remove shoes as it was causing a foul smell in the corridors, so her day started by checking shoes, pockets, wallets, pens (checking for slips of paper), bus-passes, calculators…etc and more places u wouldn’t even think, that it could be possible to smuggle materials or data..Etc.

Well she came across a guy whom she had already checked, which eventually made the guy snap, he asked her * why she was performing such unusual checks as-if they were in jail, and wasting the students time, the argument continued so on, and she bought in the office guys again, to pester the student on grounds that he was disrupting an investigation, and he might possibly have material, the scenario continued for quite some time and students left the hall in disgust, that even the college authorities didn’t support the students and were entertaining the external Examiner. Well I don’t how,

How far this attitude will carry this woman, but one should keep in mind that they were also student once. If u want to c my college copy n past the co-ordinates in Google earth (latest version recommended)” 17 23 19.91,78 36 13.84″

Trivandram

We Arrived in Trivandram dat Night and Checked into our Hotel which was quite Near to the Railway Station, Before Going to bed an Anonymous Caller had called to all the rooms of the students asking them to be quiet and some times abused them, we had got one such call from the Anonymous caller, we abused him out heart out for we had longed to do dat to some one for quite sometime now this created a commotion in the group and every one was out of their rooms and began hunting for the caller but alas he wasnt found, so every one had to go back to sleep.

The next day we al got ready to explore trivandram, we had Visited a Temple were we had to shed all our clothe’s and wear Dhoti and Kurta for Entry. After that we had our Breakfast and headed off to Kovalam Beach which was 3 hrs away from City.

On Reaching there all the students got an unusual Greeting from a unlikely Clad Foreigner, every one got busy into getting themselves nice place on the beach. Many from the groups had unpleasant encounter;s from the locals as they were not much friendly and abused the other’s if they got on “Their Side of The Beach”i personally woulda pissed around his perimeter To mark his Fencing for he couldn’t afford it

We all got to enjoy the beach and the powerful Waters’s one thing about Kovalam beach was that the water was very strong and really Muddy ppl had Sand in their pockets and in the lining of their Tracks.

We got to take a Canoe Ride over the Arabian Sea which was really awesome, Then we had our Lunch at the Leela Place Royal and then Headed off to Trivandram for our train was at 3am to warrangal

kanyakumari

The Trip from Tekkadi to Kanyakumari was a very long and tiresome one, we had to pass Trivandram on the way, so after Reaching Trivandram we had our Dinner then headed again for Kanyakumari, As Kanyakumari is very famous for its Sunrise and Sunset,it was set to be a spectacle for every one else,

We arrived Kanyakumari at night fall so we directly Checked into our Hotel and Headed straight to sleep,

Here was the place where we Other’s Faced Problem in hotel rooms as they had master Bed rooms which made 5 students to accommodate in a single room , as for us we had got a Deluxe Room with 2 Master Beds. As the Sun was about to come up we made out way to the beach to view the Sunrise, as it was promised to be a spectacle, But to our Distress Clouds had Clouded our view of the Sun coming up so we didnt get to watch the sunrise, After this was done Myelf ( Syed Junaid)of ECE and Arun of ECE made our way to a Rock made Stone path Going to the last point of India it was about 1/2km long and made of some Black Rocks, we spent some time there but it was really windy and unstable dude to the winds. Well as we were making our way back to the hotel we got to see some real awful sight’s of Grown men Shitting on the beach and them not being shy of it.

We then got ready to explore Kanyakumari, and headed off to the Twin Islands near Kanyakumari where they Held the Foot Print of the Goddess which befallen the Region’s name as Kanyakumari. As we made our way to the Docks we had to take a boat to the twin Islands which had a fare of 20rs, the Boat would pick us up and drop us at one of the twin islands then another boat later would pick us and drop us at the other island and back to main land.

On Reaching the 1st Island we got to see Really big and beautiful Temple’s which held the Foot Print of the Godess, and a Shrine of Shivaji. Then we boarded another boat to the 2nd Island which held a Giant Statue of an very famous Poet, then we Returned to Main land. After returning we had our lunches and started to explore and shop, you could be surprised on how much u can spend in a place like this a coastal city is most often benefited with availability of Smuggled goods, During our exploring of Kanyakumari it begun to rain down really heavy so we had to take shelter, and made out way back on an Goods carrier Auto, but in a dry state.

In the Evening we made out selves Ready and had our Dinner and Started off to Trivandram which was 3-5hrs away.

Tekkadi

After Reaching tekkadi we all were exhausted and tired and Checked in to a Hotel Which was Ok, Soon after checking in some went to have Lunch, and some for Massages for which Tekkadi is really famous for,

We were all suppose to meet up back at the Hotel at 3:30pm for the Boat ride at the Periyar Lake which Departs Shore at sharp 4pm daily and its the last Boat of the day,

But None of the Group had turned up except for Few ( Myself(Syed Junaid)(ECE), Anudeep(CSC), Sushant(CSC)) we were the First one to arrive, out Guide was Frustrated for none had turned up for the ride and as every one had paid 150 for the boat ride already and the tickets are not refundable, he had us got into the auto and ask us 3 to go to the lake and try to stop the boat if possible,

Phone calls were made to the other’s stating the urgency of the situation, but all the students took it lightly, we 3 started of in the Auto to the lake which was 5km from The Periyar Forest Reserve and 2 km inside the Reserve, we got there in time and on the boat, the boatmen waited for 10 mins and after that they started the boat and the Ride left the Shore’s, To every one’s Disappointment the Boat ride was suppose to be really enchanting During this time 4-6pm, and the next boat left at 7 am next day.

The sights were breath taking and the pictures taken dont mount to what we saw on that day, To our disappointment we had Mobile Phone with camera’s and no handy cam for Digi cam with us we took lot of pic from Nokia 6680 and Nseries 80, But the clarity is more in Digi cam so the picture;s came out darker than expected, but the view was indeed splendid.

After The Boat ride the group had again decided to go on a Boat Trip again on tomorrow Morning, Tekkadi Forest Reserve had a Trekking Project , which took traveller’s into the Deep forest at appropriate times, timing are , 6:00am to 9:00am, 11:00am to 1:00pm, 5:00pm to 7:00pm, 8:00pm to 10:00pm and 11:00pm to 2:00am( Midnight).

We Opted for 11:00pm to 2:00am the Trekking had a price tag of 500rs per head so it had Few taker’s the Group Consisted of

1) Sujata madam, 2)Shruti(IT), 3)Anudeep(CSC), 4)Bond (Pridvi) CSC, 5)Arun(ECE), 6)Myself(Syed Junaid) ECE.

Each Group had 6 member’s and had 1 Guide and 1 Armed Guard, we got to explore the whole forest as we went walking 13km into the forest we got to see wild boars, Deer’s, Fruit bats ..etc, we were said that Auto’s will be waiting for us when we come outside but all we had was a drunkard fast asleep, so we had to walk 5km to the hotel at 2:30 am in the night, During the walk we came across a Truck carrying SYNTEX tanks so myself and Anudeep (CSC) just playfully clicked one the truck which dat very second started off at break neck speed and after few sec when we were really considering to Jump off the truck slowed down right in front of the Hotel, Very fortunate other;s had to walk all the way till the Hotel premises.

In The meanwhile the other’s had organised a Bonfire Dance party by collecting 50rs from every body so all could get together for a nice warm fire and Dance. as some where off for the Midnight Trekking.

Next day every one got up and got ready for the boat ride which every one enjoyed much then we left for Trivandram.

Munnar

Well after Bangalore we boarded a train to Ernakulam, Kerala, from there we hired an High tech Bus to Drive us to Munnar,

Munnar being on hill side is a totally breathtaking Experience as its simple Fabulous, well its seriously means i cant type it in words as picture’s speak louder than words,

The Day we arrived in Munnar we had checked in into out hotel and Went to have our Lunch as we all were starving, the food was Served very slow but was worth the wait as it was simply scrumptious , after having out Lunch we headed of to the Munnar Dam, On the way we could see the large Landscape’s of Tea and Coffee Plantations which were speadout and it was and Endeavour to be experienced, when we reached the dam we were flabbergasted by the enchanting view of the Hill side of Munnar, The scenario at the dam was completely Different it was breathtaking and the water was Ice cold, we had Driven to the last point of the lake which flows, and we got to taste a exotic fruit which is only available here “passion Fruit”, on the whole it was a really good experience and we had a Lotta Fun Specially enjoying the scenery and more. The next day we got up early and got ready to Leave for Tekkadi.

As Driving away from Munnar on the way to Tekkadi we got to see more and more amazing View’s which were simply Breath taking, Specially the Scuide Point.

Bangalore

We arrived at Bangalore after an 6 hr Journey via Train in ( Sleeper Class) with Distributed seats as the seats wernt in Line Order. As the Reservations wernt made one time, But we still had managed to get Seats,

After arriving to Bangalore Our Tour Guide Got us Rooms at an Nearby lodge Very near to the Train Station, with looked Flimsy on the out side but was Pretty Ok inside, there was an small Clean Andhra Restaurant downstair’s to have Break fast..etc,

After checking in we had out bath and breakfast a bus was hired to take us around the Big city and to The Museum of Bangalore where we got to see some stuff and then to Electronic City where we met up with Indian ISP{ Internet Service Provider’s} who gave us brief introduction of their company and stuff, Later the students we Dropped off Near ” Brigade Road and MG Road and Near “Forum Mall” to get on with their respective shopping and stuff.

As a personal Experience we had totally explored Forum mall as it was pretty big compared to Malls at Hyderabad, at the ground Floor we had all Retail outlets of big Brand names Like “Tommy Hilfiger, United Colors of Benetton, Channel, Louis Vuittian, Adidas, Levis and Mac Donald’s and KFC Restaurant the 2nd Floor had other band labels like “SF jeans, Few Boutiques and stuff 3 rd floor contained Multi Cusine Restaurants to start of there were “Mexican, Italian, Thai, Japanese, Sushi, Indian, Continental, Chinese, Chat” and Finally Topping it off of with Prasad’s Multiplex in the 4th Floor with Normal and Large Screen, with Price Ranging from 60rs to 340rs depending on days and 780rs being constant for the golden screen.

The next day was quite as event Full as the First but today we got to See Iscon Temple which was quite Breath taking and awesome after coming out from the Temple we were standing so we came across and Kerela Style Marriage so we went in and Joined in the Celebrations, as u can c the pictures we had Lunch There Too!! lol,

After having out lunch at Marriage hall we went to Bull Temple to be equally amazed by the Breathtaking View’s of the age old temple.

Butt hairy

Some of us got to see a really weird Sight, of Hair Being Pulled out of a Pulsar,The Picture u see was taken dat very moment when dis was Done, it seems dat sme hair was found Sticking out of the Bike’s Butt ( Silencer ) and The Owner obviously Dint get his bike waxed so  the Hair Build up was quite Obvious.Well Da bike which’s Categorised as Definitely male was Proved to be so By having Hair Pulled out of its ass, Lookin From the logical Point of View , The New Pulsar DTSI uses a Technology of Catalytic Converter and a Resin Muffler Which Dampens the Sound Vibration’s from the Vehicle, Unlike in the Earlier Model which made   lot of noise Dint use this  Technology But had Swanky Waxed Bottom. So Next Time u see hair Sticking out of ur Bikes Butt, Dont Pull it out, its There for a reason, Same goes for you,

Sad Demise of a Fellow Student Updated

What i have written Below was the general Notion in College, but Today i received a Mail Proving Otherwise,i got a link to *The Hindu* paper explaining about the story. Am not Going to Post whats written Their as ive not Herd or Confirmed it ,click on the Link Below http://www.thehindu.com/2006/10/31/stories/2006103117010400.htm———————————————————————————————————————————-Posted on19:2717th December 2007————————————————————————————————————————————

Today wasnt a gud day for many of the students of karshak Engineering college. due to the sad demise of a fellow student of IT3 Rahulas a sign of respect the college was closed down after the new’s bearing  the sad new’s was announced. As the time passed by the clear reason came to picture of  what was the reason of the death, it seems that rahul at time of death was effect by the lethal diseaseDengue” which is caused by the Anopheles’s Mosquito,

After hearing the new’s many of the college management rushed to give condolences to rahul’s family who were eventually shaken by the sudden death, nearly the whole class turned up at rahul’s residence,Whats more even disturbing is was when the Staff member’s called upon the students to gather up below to observe silence as mark of respect to the fellow students death,

but some Junior Student’s thought it was some thing amusing so they had to laughed about it, so were sniggering and laughing at the time of the silence was observed.Well dats how maybe they show respect to a dead senior let alone a fellow student,Well we sure will sure return the favour.some time soon
