Our College Conducts and IEEE Meet every year, the meet is named Cynosure, so its the time when ppl from across india take part ( yeah many cme from diffrent states).
So this year my friend Uday Kiran had decided to putup a Gaming Arena, consisting of Counter Strike and Need For Speed.he got on with buying Original Cd’s for almost 78 Computers.
College had alloted us 78 Desktops for this session all were new and of gud config. Few days before the event sme of the IEEE volunteers had an unexpected runin and there were no one left to take charge of the gaming arena, but many of the applicants had paied online, so he couldnt afford to cancelled, so he saught help of friends were me and Sesanka came in,Sesanka was incharge of installation and onsite Debugger, we had taken many pains in installing the OS , game and antivirus as the new systems after installation were affected by virus by malisious pendrives by Other students using the lab.
The main problem posed to us was how can 2 students manage 78 computers and maintain accounts, I had 2 days, so i started making a solution by only using MS office Excel,Microsoft products are really helpful can provide a great platform to develop skills.
i developed the Gamer Register, which could maintain the accounts of the applicants and update the credits of particular person, if he/she won or lost a game.it was designed for the database to be updated automatically via wifi, but we couldnt make it work, it was done manually,but it worked like a charm, me managed to collect enought amount to pay for the games ( Cd’s) and made a small profit aswell.below are few screen shots of the so called software, its not much , but me being an ECE student ( electronic Communication Engineering) had managed to create a data base from excell.below are screen shots of the above said software
